About
Lincoln University is a specialist land-based university at Lincoln in Canterbury, New Zealand, founded in 1878 as a school of agriculture and made a fully independent university in 1990. It is the smallest of New Zealand's eight universities and the oldest agricultural teaching institution in the Southern Hemisphere, concentrating on agriculture, agribusiness, environment and land management, landscape architecture, tourism and viticulture.
