Auckland University of Technology is a public university in Auckland that became a university in 2000, having grown from the Auckland Technical School founded in 1895. It teaches around 25,000 students across faculties covering business, economics and law, health and environmental sciences, design and creative technologies, and culture and society, with a strong emphasis on applied learning and industry work placements.
