Illinois Institute of Technology is a private research university in Chicago, created in 1940 by the merger of Armour Institute (1890) and Lewis Institute (1895). Its main Mies Campus in Bronzeville is known for architecture, engineering, computing and the sciences, with additional sites in the Loop, Fulton Market, Bedford Park and Wheaton.
