Why study at St George's University, Grenada?

St George's University is an independent international university on Grenada's True Blue peninsula, created by an act of Grenada's parliament in 1976 and best known for its School of Medicine. It also has Schools of Veterinary Medicine, Arts and Sciences and Graduate Studies, draws students from more than 140 countries, and arranges clinical training through affiliated hospitals in the United States, Canada and the UK.

Scholarships

Ask your counsellor which of these you may be eligible for — they'll confirm the details before you apply.

  • Chancellor's Circle, Legacy of Excellence (CCLOE) - automatic award of USD 120,000 for four-year MD entrants with a minimum 3.70 overall undergraduate GPA, 3.50 science GPA and a 506 MCAT score; cannot be combined with other university awards
  • Legacy of Excellence (LOE) - automatic merit award for four-year MD entrants who do not qualify for the CCLOE but perform above SGU's academic averages; no application needed
  • International Peace Bursary - need-based grant-in-aid for non-US citizens and permanent residents on the four-year MD programme who can fund the balance of their studies; requires the Confidential Financial Statement form and is not repayable
  • Global Scholars Bursary - need-based grant-in-aid for non-US citizens and permanent residents entering the SGU/Northumbria University four-year MD programme; not repayable
  • Humanitarian Scholarship - automatic award for MD entrants who have shown compassion and commitment to humanitarian causes in their communities; no application needed
  • Grenadian Scholarships - 22 awards each year covering full tuition and administrative fees for Grenadian citizens, nominated by the Scholarship Selection Panel and awarded by the Government of Grenada for the January intake only
