Why study at University of Alberta?

The University of Alberta is a public research university in Edmonton, established by provincial legislation in 1906 with its first classes held in 1908. It is one of Canada's largest research-intensive universities, teaching close to 900 undergraduate, graduate and professional programmes across 17 faculties and five campuses, with recognised strengths in health sciences, engineering, agriculture and artificial intelligence.

  • University of Alberta International Leader Scholarship - up to CAD 15,000 for well-rounded international leaders with superior academics; application-based
  • University of Alberta International Admission Scholarship - up to CAD 5,000 awarded automatically to international students with superior high school academics, based on admission average
  • Gold Standard Scholarship - up to CAD 6,000 awarded automatically to the top 5% of entering students in each faculty, depending on admission average
  • University of Alberta Regional Excellence Scholarship - up to CAD 5,000 for students attending high school in Canada on a study permit with an admission average of 80% or above, selected by high school region
  • Maple Leaf Centenary Scholarship - up to CAD 20,000 payable over four years for students attending high school in Canada on a study permit who show superior achievement and leadership
